Multistate Research Project

Goal: Promote the national network of onion and other allium researchers, extension personnel, and industry representatives in relation to the following objectives:
- Evaluate onion germplasm for greater levels of tolerance to Iris yellow spot virus (IYSV), thrips, and other pathogens.
- Investigate thrips biology and IYSV epidemiology to improve management strategies.
- Investigate the biology, ecology, and epidemiology of other pathogens to improve management strategies.
- Facilitate interaction and information transfer between W2008 participants, the onion and industry, and other stakeholders.
