2022 Annual Onion Research Meetings in Denver, CO: NARC, W-3008, and Stop the Rot

Allium enthusiasts, experts and researchers, please join us!

We are excited to host a joint meeting in Denver, Colorado, USA for the National Allium Research Conference (NARC), W-3008 (multistate research project on integrated onion pest and disease management), and the ‘Stop the Rot’ onion bacterial research project team.

This joint onion research meeting will be held on February 28 and March 1, 2022 at the Renaissance Denver Central Park Hotel in downtown Denver, in association with the Colorado Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association (CFVGA).

We hope you will join us for this unique opportunity to interact with researchers, growers, and specialists involved with all aspects of the Allium industries.


The detailed program will be available after December 21, 2021.

On Monday, February 28th, 2022, NARC will host oral research presentations and W-3008 will host state reports on disease and pest pressures in the 2021 growing season.

On Tuesday morning, March 1st, 2022, the ‘Stop the Rot’ team will present their current research on bacterial diseases of onion. The joint research meeting will adjourn at noon on Tuesday March 1.

Poster presentations will be displayed throughout the joint meeting.

The Stop the Rot project team meeting will begin in the afternoon of Tuesday, March 1st.

Submit your abstracts by December 15, 2021

All abstracts for oral or poster presentations at the NARC meeting must be emailed to Michael Havey, mjhavey@wisc.edu, to be received no later than 18:00 (US Central Standard Time) on December 15, 2021.

Abstracts for the Stop the Rot session on Tuesday March 1 will be coordinated by Lindsey du Toit and Heather MacKay.

Registration, accommodation, and travel planning

Please note: registration will close on Wednesday February 23, 2022.

Registration fees:

  • The registration fee is $275 per person for the joint meeting, if you register before February 10, 2022. Late registration fee is $325. Registration includes admission to all research presentations by the three groups; coffee breaks on Monday AM and PM, and Tuesday AM; lunch on Monday; and an evening reception on Monday with the CFVGA, with hearty hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar.
  • There is an additional registration fee of $90.00 per person for Stop the Rot team members and Stakeholder Advisory Panel members who are staying on for the project team meeting that Tuesday afternoon. This also covers lunch and refreshments during the afternoon team meeting.

We are planning for in-person meetings and will follow all required COVID protocols in place at the time. Any COVID-related changes in the meeting plans will be communicated to registered participants as early as possible.
