“Biology and Management of Iris yellow spot virus (IYSV) and Thrips in Onions”
Goal: Promote the national network of onion and other allium researchers, extension personnel and industry reps in relation to the following objectives:
· Screen onion germplasm for improved levels of tolerance to Iris yellow spot virus and thrips.
· Develop onion production systems that consider the interaction of multiple pests, plant stresses, and production practices.
· Identify onion responses to varying levels of thrips and Iris yellow spot virus infection; and identify cultural and biological tactics that can reduce or replace insecticides for thrip and Iris yellow spot management.
· Biology and epidemiology of Iris yellow spot virus.
· Information transfer of progress dealing with IYSV and thrips biology and IPM strategies to the onion industry and other interested parties. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
